Phew, I made it! I wish I had a more exciting final outfit planned for today, but I'm kind of running out of possibilities. Today's outfit is actually a variation of one of my favorite outfits of the challenge - Day 1. I thought I'd get daring and wear a long cardigan with a dress (previously only paired with pants) and belt on top of the cardigan instead of under. It's new for me, at least.
I've got a busy little Wednesday today. I'm getting my yearly physical done this morning (I had to fast, and I'm getting soooo hungry!), have my annual performance review at work today (blah), and tonight Fella and I are heading to a Second City holiday revue. That said, I need to get this day started!
Fellow 30 for 30ers, if you've already finished, Congrats!!! If not, you're almost there!
(Here's a close-up of my new snow boots from yesterday's post)
Cardigan (item #2): Loft
Dress (item #20): Target
Shoes (item #29): Naturalizer
Belt: Target
Tights: New York & Company
Necklace: Ann Taylor
Congrats on finishing! Won't it be fun to wear something different tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Victory! And you went out with a really good outfit, too. What's the first thing you're going to wear now that you're out of jail...er, I mean done with the challenge?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!~ I am so impressed with each and every blogger who took this on and FINISHED! <3
ReplyDeleteThose are great boots, Anne--and I'm glad to see that Jude is so enthusiastic about them.
ReplyDeleteI dunno about the belted cardigan--I love the outfit, sans belt--but my eye still doesn't respond well to the under-the-bust belt over the cardigan. Even on Michelle Obama, it looks a bit...uncomfortable? But again, I'm probably projecting my own experience, having a waist up under my armpits and feeling that any constriction there makes breathing a Herculean effort. I love that plum color on you!
Congrats! You made it! I really like the belted cardi over the dress - it just defines it nicely.
ReplyDeleteHee, your dog is so cute.
Congrats! You did it! Are you gonna go crazy and wear like four shirts tomorrow that weren't in your 30 for 30? Exciting.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have a post coming up. Durn train was late though and I overslept, so it'll be an office shot. After class.
Eek: Thanks! And I'm very excited to wear anything else tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteCynthia: I want to wear pretty much everything right away, but I'm most excited about a brand new pair of purple heels that I got as an early Christmas present over Thanksgiving. I've been dying to wear them!
WWWYG: Thank you! It was certainly a challenge, but knowing how many other bloggers were joining in helped!
Charlotte: Thanks for the belt feedback! I'm still not 100% about belting over a cardigan either - my MO is to do it under the cardigan, so I'm getting used to this look. I don't find it uncomfortable because I don't wear the belt too tight.
Sheila: Thank you! The belt over a cardi look is growing on me :)
Rad: Ha! Yes, I'm planning to change outfits every hour tomorrow! Actually, I'm excited about not having to think so much about what I should wear for a few days. Hope your day gets better!
Congrats on finishing the challenge! I like the long, belted cardigan look.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I like the long belted cardigan over the dress. Nice layering!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the closeup of the snow boots. They are both spiffy and toasty looking.
Awesome job! I love the cardi with the dress here!
ReplyDeleteI finished up on Monday, but didn't post my last outfit until this morning.
Way to go on finishing Anne! I've got a couple of days of left to go. Love the play with proportions you're doing here. You look like you're 8 feet tall -- in a good way!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love how Jude insists on making it into shoe shots. He knows he's got to protect them from the blogging hordes!
Congrats on making it through the challenge!
ReplyDeleteI love the long cardi with the dress, I think it's a great pairing.
Chic on the Cheap
WHOOHOOO, congrats on finishing! We are the first two in my Google Reader who finished; I guess a lot of people took a day off here and there, maybe for the holiday. But I am so glad I got in done in 30 days. I missed my closet so much, how about you?
ReplyDeleteAnd you wore the purple sweater! :) Love it -- I love long cardigans with dresses. Wore them like crazy last year! It's such a slimming, easy, perfect business casual look.
Why is everyone on board with the too high belt? All I can think when I see someone wearing this, is why is your belt so high?
ReplyDeletePlus, you're wearing at the empire waist height, which is never the thinnest or narrowest part of your torso. In my opinion, buck the trend wear your belt at your actual waistline, or just above the belly button.
