Have a Happy

DSCF6119

I dig this tunic top, but it is so low cut that I rarely wear it.  And it may just be a teensy bit smaller than I'd prefer (but the next size up was too big).  And the jersey knit is a little bit thick for warm weather, so I've also found this awkward to style.
Blokey and I are not traveling this year to see our family over the holidays.  It seemed like a great idea at the time (Deadline of the Decade and the stress of holiday travel), but I must admit that I regret the choice now.  But Blokey and I are going to start some of our own traditions, and we'll have a nice time.  (And I'll visit my family soon.)  This includes picking/singing a few non-carol holiday songs in the next few days.  Especially this:

Style Nation: whatever you are doing the for the next few days- I wish you healthy and happy ones.

Tunic: Billabong, via Cliche (Minneapolis)
Jeggings: Hue (via Alamo shoes, during shopping trip with Anne)
Shoes: Hue (Macy's?)
Booties: Me Too (DSW)

  2. This outfit looks FANTASTIC! Have we seen the jeggings with heels yet? That combo makes your legs look miles long.

I haven't been home actually on Christmas since 2007, and as much as I love spending it with Fella and his family, I do get a tiny bit homesick for mine. But new traditions are always good. I hope you and Blokey have a nice holiday!

  3. I'm having a Christmas eve dinner and two different Christmas dinners with friends in town. Glad about not having to fly to Wisconsin in midwinter, especially since it's going to snow all the way down here, which probably bodes ill for travel. Having your own traditions = good.

The purple top is great on you, too. I think everyone in Style Nation should be wearing more purple. Have you ever just tried a plain cami underneath to shore up the cleavage coverage?

  5. Brett and I always go out to dinner on the 23rd for Christmas. Tomorrow we're heading to the in-laws' house for the weekend.

  6. That top is gorgeous on you! We've been in TO with M's family for the past week, but since money and time are tight this year, we are headed home tomorrow and will have our second Christmas together on our own. As M. is Jewish and I am a secular humanist, it's kind of nice that we have started our own traditions for the holiday season. Have a wonderful Christmas!

  7. Awkward to style you say, but well styled here and smokin' hot to boot!
It's a toss-up: the pleasure of _not_ traveling during the holidays versus the pleasure of seeing family. I like starting new traditions and would enjoy hearing more about what you and Blokey decide. John Prine is a great start!

  8. Good goddess, you are looking hot, Rad! And yeah, those legs go for miles.

I know what you mean about the regret. I made a similar decision eons ago and regretted it when it was too late to change my mind. But now, I really, really want a romantic, non-travelly holiday. And you're right: given what we do, it's a smarter use of your time to write and research over the break between terms.

Have a lovely, sexy, musical time. I'll be living vicariously through your romantic xmas.

  9. I hope you have a wonderful new and different kind of Christmas, and while being with the family is great, sometimes things can get really overwhelming and stressful. So enjoy relaxing!

    Chic on the Cheap

  10. I'm with Cynthia: just do a plain cami underneath the tunic - it's too cute not to wear more often.

Hope your Christmas was rad, Rad! :)
