30 for 30, Day 8: Blue Sapphire

I have nothing exciting at all going on today - just another day working from home.  I went to the gym over my lunch break, did some much-needed laundry (I'm starting to run out of clean 30 for 30 clothes!) and maybe got a little sucked in to the announcement of Prince William's engagement.  I'm a sucker for stuff like this, and obviously looking forward to seeing the fashions at a royal wedding.  And how gorgeous is Princess Diana's 18 carat sapphire ring?  I don't have a beautiful blue gemstone for today's outfit, but at least I have a bright blue sweater.  Close enough.

How's your Tuesday going?

Sweater (item #8): Gap
Jeans (item #16): Gap
Shoes (item #24): Puma
Earrings: Gift from my mom, Hazel Chicago (close-up here)

  1. That sweater is indeed a gorgeous color. And, yay, Jude is back in the pictures!

I too get sucked in by royal engagements and love the excitement of a royal wedding.

  2. Yes! Jewel tones are lovely on you. And Jude is awesome, as always.

  3. I love the color of the sweater! I really need to do laundry too! Between my trip to San Antonio and 30x30 I am seriously running low on clean clothes.

  4. That's a great color on you.

I'm finding the people who think that by giving Kate Princess Diana's ring, William is perpetuating some kind of "curse" to be hilarious. Really people.

  5. I love the sapphire sweater. It will look lovely with my sapphire shoes when we shoe swap. Yep, still dreaming of that. Man, I remember when Princess Diana got married. Nothing compares to a royal wedding.

  6. You look pretty spiffy for working from home (I won't even begin to describe the monstrosity that was my outfit). I will admit to being interested in Harry Potter related gossip, which is similar. (Not because I watch the movies or read the books, which I don't, but because I just might have a wee, terrible crush on the Grint).

  7. Okay, I am secretly a huge fan of the British royal family (I got up early to watch Charles' and Di's wedding and I cried buckets during her funeral procession). I love that William is using his Mum's ring. It's a sweet gesture.

You look fab in royal blue!

  8. KB: Thanks! :)

E-Jo: I'm so glad I'm not the only one hooked on this stuff! And Jude is indeed back from his picture hiatus. He needs a break from it all sometimes.

A-Dubs: The jewel-toned sweater does match Jude's harness so it was an awesome idea on his part.

LHdM: Ooh, travelling (and running a half) would definitely make it hard to find time for laundry!

Cynthia: Ha! I'll just say this on the record - if Kate decides that the ring is cursed, which I don't think it is, I'd be happy to wear it for her. There, I've said it.

SU: Diana's wedding was just a few months before I was born, but I'm sure my mom was watching. All I have to go on is pictures, but I'm pretty stoked to see this wedding. I feel like it might deserve a special Stylenation party or something.

Rad: If it helps, I didn't even get dressed until 2 today :) And though I still have yet to see any of the Harry Potter series, I did see an interview with Emma Watson on Today this morning.

Sheila: I agree - it's a really cool gesture! He said it was so his mom could be there in some way, which is so sweet!

  9. And you have a really beautiful dog to be your co-worker when you work from home.

Wouldn't it be grand if William & Kate did a small, family-only wedding? Although it's impossible, privacy would probably be the greatest wedding gift they could hope for.
