Shower Wear
Happy Monday, Stylenation! I just returned home from a quick and very busy weekend in Ohio. I was in town for my cousin's bridal shower, and spent a wonderful afternoon with many of the lovely ladies in my family. From my 86 year old Grandma to my 4 year old cousin, we gathered 4 generations of women, all of whom have been so influential in my life. The women in my family are strong, independent, ambitious, adventurous, confident and beautiful in their own ways, and those are all traits that I aspire to. It's so nice to get a reminder of that every now and then.
I put together a pretty simple outfit for the shower. I've worn this dress/cami/necklace combo before, as well as the colored tights (look! I finally got on board with Rainbow Tights week!) and these shoes. I think it works pretty well together, but I'm glad that No Repeats is over with since this is pretty close to being a repeat outfit.
I've been completely away from computers all weekend, so I'll need to catch up on all of your blogs! How was your weekend? Anyone have a 3 day weekend for MLK day?

This is such a lovely, put-together outfit and perfect for a shower! I like the colored tights with the black/white ensemble.
ReplyDeleteI love the purple tights. Brett had a three day weekend, but I had to work.
ReplyDeleteeee! love this.
ReplyDeleteWE had a 3 day weekend- not quite happy that it's almost over!
I went to the office today, worked on a manuscript, and caught up on all my journal editor duties. I'm sure Dr. King would understand.
ReplyDeleteAlso, how cute is your outfit? Seriously. Where have you been hiding all of these cute prints? I think you hid them during 30x30.
ReplyDeleteYour weekend sounds wonderful, and I love your dress! I spent most of this weekend working on lectures for my two new classes....
ReplyDeleteThe post title kind of rattled me for a minute...as I had a different connotation of shower! Like you, I'm often impressed by the strength and variety of women in my extended family. And, yes, I had an extended holiday...school starts tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful you've got so much of your family intact and able to all be together at once, it's always a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteLove that dress, and the look may be simple, but it works really well.
You look so very elegant! Just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI was very confused about the title of this post - I was taking shower literally! I take it a bridal shower is like a hen night?
ReplyDeleteYou look great by the way!
Lovely ensemble. Perfect for a shower I would say! Glad to hear you had a nice weekend with family :)
ReplyDeleteAw, such a cute mental image of your family together. I dig the tights and matching shoes!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know your weekend away was enjoyable. Such excursions and gatherings can really brighten this dark month. So can purple tights and black and white patterns, especially all of your versions of these things in this outfit.
ReplyDeleteKeep the loveliness coming, please. We will make it through January.
I don't care if this is a bit of a repeat. It's so awesome on you, you could totally wear it everyday and that'd be great! Love love the purple tights with the black and white.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your weekend was good!
I'm really enjoying the purple/black & white combos you've been wearing...the purple dress a few posts ago and now this. There are certain looks I associate you with and this is one of them. (I like that) I had a 3 day weekend. I caught up on movies...finished up the weekend with Easy A. (No, I have no plans of dressing like her)
