Spice-Themed Clothes, Part 2: Cilantro & Lime

Saturday: No Repeats, Day 24
01-08-2011-3
On Friday I added some paprika to my winter blues and greys, upon Charlotte's suggestion.  So here's some cilantro.  I figured if I like the cilantro/lime combo in my rice, it could work in an outfit too.  The flash sort of blows out the print and color of the tank, so here's a close-up.

This tank top was hiding in the back of my closet, typically reserved for spring and summer.  But why not wear it to brighten up the winter?  Fella and I braved the cold to go out to dinner and head to a friend's birthday party last night.  I ended up wearing my snow boots, but of course cute wedges would have been better.

  2. Anne--I love you in green! More, please. I like Charlotte's suggestion of spices to name colors. Now, something in curry?

Yesterday, DH and I visited Penzy's. I came home with a precious bottle of Vietnamese cinnamon. I'm not sure I'll ever actually bake with, I am so taken by removing the lid and taking a whiff!

  3. I've been thinking lately that I should try to incorporate some off season clothes in the winter, as an antitode to getting bored with stuff I have. Laryinerg one tank over another seems like a smart way to to do it. Green is definitely up there in your power colors.

  4. This cilantro and lime combo looks great! Like Rad, I think that green is definitely one of your power colors -- though most colors seem to be power colors on you!

I'm also taking inspiration from your incorporation of off-season clothes. I have a tank very similar to this one -- except pattern-less and coral -- that is being broken out, Anne-style, tomorrow!

  5. Another vote for you wearing more green. It's a great color on you. I also really like the idea of wearing allegedly off-season clothes and colors to alleviate boredom and soothe the winter blahs. Hmmmm. May need to try this.

  6. Great combination, Anne! The other day I thrifted a bunch of sweaters in "spring" colors of apricot, celery, and hyacinth (how's that, Terri?). I intend to wear them during January & February, since I have "spring" coloration on the seasonal chart. They all go well with gray, but I'll have to find some other Serious Colors to balance them.

As everyone else has been telling you, green looks great on you. Teal, green, and plum!

  9. Yep! You are gorgeous in cilantro. I may have to revoke my initial commitment to you-in-blue in favour of this palette. Probably that means another poem. Oh, the pressure!
