Drama-rama

It's Already Pretty's Blackout day 3, and I thought I'd try for a little color. I'm breaking the rule of long torso figure flattery here, with flat shoes, shorter pants, and low slung jeans, but I live dangerously like that. Also, this tie front shirt is probably a little risque for going in to work, but I'll untie and tuck it in when I'm meeting anyone. It's not going to get hot today, so I can wear a brown cardigan over Blokey's western shirt.
Our home life has become full of cat drama. Poor Lula is feeling neglected, as we spend a lot of time with Buster. Poor Buster is going through the double transition of being a feral cat indoors, and a whole new household. There has been biting, hissing under the door, hiding, and acting out. Let's just say that things are getting ruined around the house, including our sleep. Jesse.anne.o recommended in yesterday's comments that I check out Cat vs. Cat: Keeping peace when you have more than one cat. I requested it promptly from the Brooklyn library. And I'm going to let the resident cat expert handle it during the day, as I am off to do more edits.

(Oops, I left out the outfit details! Thanks, Elaine!)

  1. You are my western-influenced soulmate, Rad.

And I so feel ya on kitty transitions. Our younger wasn't feral when we brought him into the household, and there was STILL hissing drama for weeks. Hope things reach equilibrium soon.

  2. I think I have this exact same shirt. In fact, I think I have almost all of the elements of this outfit. I should do an homage.

As for the kitties, I remember thinking for several weeks that I had done this horrible thing by introducing another cat into our peaceable kingdom because it was so dramatic, seemingly catastrophic (pun intended). But eventually they worked it all out and now they are best buddies. I also know people who have cats who never get along, but they still manage to live together without the drama. Hang in there, mighty cat rescuers! They'll figure it out.

  3. The western shirt looks great on you, and I think this outfit looks fine on a long torso.

I fostered cats for a while, and they usually got over the drama after a couple of days. It can be a little stressful, but it will be worth it when they're buddies.

  4. I LOVE this - the tied shirt and cropped jeans are so breezy cool! Good luck with the cat drama - I've never had a pet other than parakeets so I am no help whatsoever!

  5. I love the shirt and how you're wearing it. I want to try rolling up jeans.

As for the kittie troubles- keeps us posted on if the book tips work. We are hoping to adopt another cat. But our current spoiled kitty Prescott - has some anger issues- so we're not sure if it would be a great idea.

  6. Great outfit! Way to live on the edge :)

Sorry about the cat drama. Definitely let blokey handle it - maybe he can lull them to sleep on his guitar or something. I'm really thankful that Jude just whines at us when he feels neglected - hitting and hissing would be a bit much.

  7. You look great! I really like the color on you. I am sorry to hear about the cat drama. I have only kept dogs so I am no help.

  8. Oh the trials and travails of pet ownership! I had the dog is going to piss in the house nightmare last night for the first time in months (probably because her separation anxiety is acting up again and she has had a couple of accidents in her crate in the past week). *sigh*

You look fantastic in these cuffed jeans!

  9. 'Looking long, lean, and awesome, again, Rad. Is this seriously Blokey's shirt? I wish my partner's closet had even one item as wicked as that western number.

Also, long body solidarity! You are proving right now that we, too, can rock the low-slung jeans. (Well, you, too, can rock them.)

And finally, is there any hope, yet, that Lula will learn to share you? What do cats do if we don't monitor their interactions? Would she beat Buster down?

  11. Love this. You look amazing! Where are your outfit deets?? ;)

Good luck with the kitties... My SIL's cat hated me for a while because she hates my husband. But lately she's let me pet her. Its the start of something new!
