I feel like the semester really begins after Labor Day. Usually it does, but since Rosh Hashanah starts today at sundown, we have a 1/2 day. All of our post 4 PM classes are cancelled, which means I only teach one class. That class isn't going to be too pleased about being there so we're keeping it light today.
I realize that I look bummed in this picture, but all my other photos made me look startled or annoyed. I'm trying to wear some of my "workhorse" pieces, as the ladies at Scholar Style Guide have declared it "Wardrobe Workhorse" week. I was too out of the loop to officially participate, but I love the idea. I got this shirt at the Gap with Anne in July, and though I've only worn it a few times, I plan to remix it a lot this fall. It's a little causal, but since we are mostly doing administrative stuff and review in class today, I'm OK with that. This skirt was part of my 6 pieces for some of August challenge, and this scarf is part of my growing collection. Scarves are my favorite accessory, since I often find jewelry to be fussy. Finally, these brown wedges are some of my favorite shoes. I wear them out, to teach, and they're pretty comfy for 3" wedge heels.
Hope you have an excellent Wednesday.

I really like this outfit. The color palette is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit. (The scarf really makes it.)
ReplyDeleteI am trying to decide what to wear tonight for Rosh Hashanah....
Great look - love the scarf.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I forgot about that shirt! I love how polished and put together this outfit looks. And scarves are a wonderful accessory! My collection is growing too, but I usually defer to a necklace, so I don't wear them nearly as much as I should.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! I thought the scarf tied it all together, like the rug in the Big Lebowski.
ReplyDelete@AFtK: Happy Rosh Hashanah to you!
Such a great take on laid-back chic!
ReplyDeleteI think this outfit is one of my favorites of yours! I love every single element in it and they have all played together so well.
ReplyDeleteThere doesn't seem to really be a Jewish community here so we're not really doing Rosh Hashanah this year....
Autumn in this outfit, Rad! And doesn't it feel fine? This looks both comfortable and polished--a classic.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute, classic look. I like the denim shirt.
ReplyDeleteI love this. That skirt is a great length and has a great shape. I love the chambray shirt and the scarf is the perfect accessory. You look awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat really is the perfect skirt!
ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect classic fall look! That shirt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat is it. I'm getting a jean shirt, again. Also, you look freaking awesome in this outfit, Rad: lean, curvy, trendy-without-being-too-trendy, and appropriately grumpy at this, the start of term. And I love your haircut. LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteFinally, are you looking at Buster? Is he getting ready to race into the frame?
Such a terrific outfit. The jean shirt fits you well and it looks so good with that skirt. Speaking of the skirt, it has served you well. Good choice.
ReplyDeleteI'm with A-Dubs, you do look lean, curvy, and not trendy but on trend. The scarf adds just enough playfulness. Like it a lot.
I love accessorizing with scarfs. I wish everyone wore them more. I wish I wore them more. I too have quite a growing collection, so it shouldn't be a problem.
ReplyDeleteI really love the skirt, classic and definitely versatile.
Chic on the Cheap
Thanks, Lyddie Gal! It ended up being a pain, as it got windy and hot (typical NY combination), but I wore at work anway!
ReplyDelete@SU and A-Dubs- such high praise from such dressers. I stand humbly pleased.
And thanks for the lovely fall themed comments. Fall started today (not yesterday) but I plan to enjoy it (and this shirt) as much as possible!
Scarf as jewellery? Love it!
