Saturday In the Park - er, Garden

08/13/11

Yesterday Fella and I went to the Chicago Botanic Garden.  If you live in the area and you haven't been up there, go there now.  I'm a little embarrassed to say that I've lived here for 7 years and worked 20 minutes away for as long, and only got there for the first time this summer.  It's an oasis of flowers, plants, trails, trees, ponds and lakes hiding on the north edge of Cook County.

To keep with the theme of this style blog, here's some outfit photos, courtesy of Fella.  And after that, a bunch of flower pictures.  Because they're pretty.  And if that's not enough, I've posted even more pictures over on my photo blog.

Tank: Old Navy (remixed - wow, has it really been since March that I've worn this?  Clearly, I have too many clothes)
Pants: Loft Outlet (remixed)
Sandals: Privo (remixed)
Necklace: Randolph Street Market (also worn on Friday, because I love it so much)
Bag: Coach, gift from Fella's parents
Umbrella: Gap Outlet

  2. I've noticed that flowers never wear charcoal grey.  Hmm.

  6. Fabulous, FABULOUS pictures! I am so glad you got to go back -- and as summer is in fully swing! Wow, everything looks great. Yeah, I definitely need to get back there this week.

  7. It was so fun, though I could've used a tour guide again :)  We were all over the place without a plan!  But I'm thinking of getting myself a membership.  Trekking around the garden for 4 hours straight is fun, but it'd be cool to just stop in for a walk or something after work.

  8. Fella's mom has several lovely bags herself, and she's picked out all kinds of great jewelry and accessories for me in the past.  I definitely lucked out there :)

  9. Interesting observation!  They tend to stick to white, and otherwise avoid neutrals.  So they're definitely on Team Colors.

  11. These are beautiful photos. I am making a mental note to go visit those gardens the next time I go up to Chicago. Like, within the next couple months!
