Misty Morning
It's mornings like this that I'm glad that I typically plan my outfits for work ahead of time. We had a big, loud thunderstorm in the middle of the night last night that knocked our power out. It came back on within a couple of hours, but I had a really hard time getting back to sleep. I'm used to being lulled to sleep by the sounds of our window a/c unit and the TV, and without those, there was nothing but silence. Like, deafening silence. That's hard to come by here in the city, which I've apparently gotten used to.
Anyway, I had some big post planned out last night about how I may need to do another No Repeats type challenge. I was going through my closet last night, and despite all of the clothes I gave away before we moved, I still have kind of an overload of them. It's overwhelming. I feel like I should start wearing more of them, and maybe weed out what I really don't wear. I'm still thinking about that, but honestly, all I can think about today is how awful the weather is supposed to be. It's supposed to be 98 today, and our humidity is at about 200%. That explains the fog in the picture above.

Ooh! If we can start in mid-August, I am there with you on No Repeats.
ReplyDeleteThat could be arranged, though I think I may start even earlier than that!
ReplyDeleteAwesome dress!
ReplyDeleteGreat dress! Love a paisley print!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the monster humidity -- here we're in the middle of a super drought which is bad news in all sorts of ways except for the fact that it's seeming to keep the humidity down. Though the humidity-fog makes your photos kind of lovely and atmospheric!
Whoa that's a lot of humidity! Heat and Fog? I've never encountered that combo- so strange! But you do look cute and dressed to try and beat the heat.
ReplyDeleteThat is an awesome dress and you look great. I was thinking of doing a modified no repeats, so I might be on board for that one! Stay cool :)
ReplyDeleteYou are a knockout in that dress!
ReplyDeleteI always amaze/annoy The Rocket Scientist because I can sleep anywhere anytime. It's one of my many gifts - right up there with knowing all the words to "American Pie."
At least you look great! I feel you on the humidity. It's like that where I live too.

What kind of modifications? I'd be interesting in changing it up, because i
ReplyDeleteknow I got totally annoyed with the challenge by the end of it.
Those are both important skills Katie!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could've gotten a picture yesterday - there was some seriously
ReplyDeletedense fog near the lake, and it looked super cool. We get a lot of fog/haze
in the summer here when the humidity is high though.
Great dress!! Don't you love it when you walk outside and your sunglasses of up automatically from this horrid humidity we are having!!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I feel you with the heat frustration. You look great and very polished, though.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see another No Repeats!
Totally pissed that first I had to endure a ridiculous winter and now I'm having to suffer through heat and humidity. I call bullshit on the Upper Midwest.
ReplyDeleteI love the dress
Yes, I've been having to acclimate my camera too. I would have thought that the rain might have cooled things down a bit. Think cool thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLet the camera sit outside for five minutes before you take the photo, and no mist! Promise; look at how clear my shots are on today's post. I deleted the misty ones, but maybe I will keep today's to prove my point.
ReplyDeleteI really love blue on you; that dress is yet another winner! And it's funny that you said the sandals have been worn a gazillion times; this is the first one where they stood out for me and I checked your list to see who made them. They're super cute!
P.S. I thought that ON dress looked very flattering on you. And naturally, now that they have a 30% sale going on, I ordered a couple myself. :)
I remember you saying that earlier this week about the camera - I just didn't have 5 minutes to spare yesterday!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE my Aerosoles sandals, but they probably won't make it past this summer because I've worn them to death. But I'd definitely buy another pair, and highly recommend them :)
Make sure you post the ON dresses once you get them! I'm curious to see how they look on others.
I think the rain was just there to put even more moisture in the air. But I've heard that it's been even worse where you are, so I hope you're staying cool!
ReplyDeleteWell said. A lot of people here subscribe to the "at least it's not snow" philosophy. And I get that, but you're right - we had a crappy winter, and now we're having a crappy summer.
