Is it Friday Yet?
This week seems to be dragging on, so I don't have a lot to say today. I'm trying to not shop very much right now, but I couldn't pass up this skirt. I mean, look at it! It's a comfy knit, yet heavy enough that it provides good coverage, it's not pencil-shaped, and it goes past my knees. It's seriously everything I've ever looked for in a skirt. Add in a cute, neutral chevron pattern, and it's perfect for summer. This outfit is a little bit outside of my normal range of work outfits. The skirt feels like it's got good casual outfit potential, but adding a sweater, metallic sandals and jewelry seems to make it office appropriate.
But enough about me... Fella and I are headed to our friend C's wedding this weekend (with Rad - yay!), and Fella needs help deciding between two shirts. I'm between an all black cocktail dress and a black and gray dress myself (it's downtown, so black feels appropriate), but I'll get that all sorted out. Keeping in mind that there won't be any tags hanging off, and Fella won't be wearing jeans, what do you guys think? And doesn't Fella need a man style blog?

I do love the skirt and kind of want one of my own.
ReplyDeleteAs for the shirts, I think it depends. Both are nice, but I personally prefer the stripes and blue tie. That said, the part of me that spent years in technical theatre thinking about the ensemble, rather than just the actor, thinks that as a couple, the two of you might look more harmonious with the first combo if you are wearing black/black and grey. So I would say it depends on whether you care about how you look together. (Note that I would only care about such things if you think that pictures might come out of it.)
I love that skirt - I almost bought one myself ;)
ReplyDeleteFella could certainly has his very own blog. As could Jude "Chew toys make the best accessories"
As for shirts, it is a tough call, but I think I am partial to the stripes. Then again I do have a bit of a stripe bias ;)
I'm digging the stripes. Do you have a blue dress?
ReplyDeleteStripes with that blue tie. holy moly, that's a winning combo! and you should wear a satin navy dress! something with a sheen (not a charlie, please).
ReplyDeleteI am also loving that skirt! and it looks oh so comfy!
I do, but it's really fancy (as in, it has a belt made out of silver sequins!). And requires a strapless bra, which I'm not a huge fan of. Hmm....
ReplyDeleteNot Charlie Sheen? Check. I don't think I have any navy dresses, but I could be overlooking something.
ReplyDeleteLove the skirt. I vote for the second shirt and tie on fella.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I thought the same about being matchy matchy, because there will definitely be pictures. But I suppose I could always find something blue to wear.
ReplyDeleteWow, lots of love for the blue stripes!
ReplyDeleteOoh... great skirt. I'm going to try my darnedest to resist buying it. Likely my very full suitcase will convince me that I shouldn't buy anything while I'm away.
ReplyDeleteI like both shirts -- with a slight preference for the subtle grid of the first one.
Finally someone is on Team First Shirt! That's my favorite too, though possibly because it'll match what I'm wearing better. Or because I'm a fan of plaid.
ReplyDeleteFor a wedding, I like the first one. I like the second too, but it feels more officey to me.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the wedding!!
That skirt is fabulous and I love the way you styled it.
ReplyDeleteLove both of Fella's shirts - at first I was firmly on the side of the second one, but the first is kind of growing on me. Maybe the first one with the bright blue tie. I love the second tie more than the second shirt.
I like the striped shirt on Fella, but they are both nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the keep my skirts at knee length or a little below. The backs of my knees are not sexy! :P
ReplyDeleteI'm on team checked shirt. We'll get Blokey's opinion on it too.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute skirt.
I'm so excited to visit.
LOVE your skirt!
