Well, We Tried...

06/22/11
Last night after seeing Lydia's pictures with her dog Chloe over on Chic on the Cheap (and subsequently, Miles to Style), I thought to myself that obviously Jude and I could do that.  We can't.  We so can't.

06/22/11
We tried some pictures in the backyard after Jude's morning walk, which is so out of the normal routine that he was too confused to pose with me.  I have like 12 pictures of only one of us looking at the camera, and a few of Jude eating grass in the background.  We'll work on it.

New location
Then I noticed that the sun coming up in the background was adding a misty halo, so I moved to another spot in the yard.  Exciting.

Oh, is the timer still on?
The last shot, although not terribly flattering, is amusing.  This is me not realizing there was still another shot left on my camera's timer, walking to pick up said camera, and looking upstairs to make sure my neighbors weren't watching and thinking I'm weird for taking pictures of myself.  Duh, I'm taking pictures of myself and my dog.

  1. lol I love it! My dogs tend to photobomb more than anything, so there will be random shot of me and a dog tail/back end. I really like those sandals!!!

  2. Aw, so cute.  It's OK that he's not looking at the camera, because deep in thought is one of Jude's favorite faces.  Great simple, summer look.

  4. I think the pictures are cute, and so is your dress.  My dog will never look at the camera either.

  5. I always wonder what it would be like to take self portraits in a public setting!

  6. Hey, I recognize that outfit! :)
Great seeing you tonight. We should make that a regular thing; I haven't walked that much in ages!

  10. Honestly, he loves the camera.  But if I'm not holding it, he doesn't always know I'm taking his picture.

  11. This is just my backyard!  I haven't dared to go much more public than alley ways.

  14. lol.  That last picture is hilarious.  We had some guys working on our roof today and I'm sure they were highly amused by my picture taking.  That being said, I think you and Jude both did a fabulous job.

  15. Hee! I for one love this shoot and crave your do walking stye. Also, why don't we get to see Jude's cow impression? It totally cracks me up to see dogs eating grass.

Intentional pet shots are so much harder than when they just crash the photo!

We were going to do a red shoes conference once.  Still interested?

  19. Oh man, you're brave - I wouldn't go out with construction workers there!  Though while taking today's picture, I noticed a neighbor across the way (in the brick building behind my porch shots) opening his window, watching me take pictures, then closing the window again.  Oh well.
