I was inspired by E. from Academichic, who said last week that she was interested in a shorts suit. Since I hacked up these pants to be teaching appropriate, and it's supposed to be 70 degrees today, I thought I'd give it a go. I thought I'd look serious yet nonchalant. But after looking at the photos, I think the monochromatic look is more reminiscent of Angus Young, of AC/DC.
Observe:
We've even got similar length hair. But hey, he's a real rock icon, so if I can unwittingly channel a famous musician dude's most famous costume, that's just might be a fashion win.

Um, I am in LOVE with this! You look so so so good! I am totally going to try this look this week!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this post. Short suits are awesome. Macys had a bunch for men in their windows last season and I was SO bummed when it was time to take them down.
ReplyDeletei love this look!!!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously. You're totally rocking it! I think it would've been adorable with knee high socks :D
ReplyDeleteclothed much, a modest fashion blog
If you wanted to do something a little less "Angus" in the future, you could try doing a more feminine top. You're rockin' it!
ReplyDeletei think you look WAY cooler than acdc. i love the shorts suit look and it is eminently flattering on you.
ReplyDeleteand thank you so much for those lobster print fabrics--they are just TOO funny!
your legs are v sexy
ReplyDeleteLOL, hilarious. You look way better in the "short suit" though...maybe you should take up the guitar!
ReplyDeleteI always thought a shorts suit would look too school boy but the AC/DC comparison is too funny. You are wearing it way better than Angus or Little Lord Fauntelroy ever could. Not at all boyish because of those gams and the sweet shoes. I bet this would also look awesome with a pair of killer heels, but only if you don't have to walk anywhere.
ReplyDeleteAnd I am jealous of your shorts-friendly weather. It's snowing where I am.
Thanks for the lovely compliments, bloggy friends.
ReplyDeleteRK and DM: I think the next time I wear this, I'll do more femme shoes but wear a tie or something. It just seems necessary.
Ikke: acting like my dirty uncle-in-law, are wel?
JAO: I'd like to see you in a shorts suit. I bet you'd look awesome too.
Elaine, knee socks next time too!
Oh, I love this! I think Angus Young is a fabulous style inspiration; this makes me want to try something similar.
