Remixing, day 3

6-3, originally uploaded by Cohabitating_Closet.

So the light looks different in this picture because it's very early for me to be awake. In the summer, I tend towards a vampiric schedule (it's all Blokey's doing). Then to get on regular people's clocks, I have to do some marathon staying up. We have to fly out early for a friend's wedding this Friday and I'll be busy with bridsmaidy things all weekend. I told Blokey last night, "Do we suffer now or suffer later?" I meant sleep deprivation but he smirked at my guilt stricken, Protestant ways.
On the agenda today: buying grapes, cutting 450 words from this darn manuscript, syllabus-ing, doing laundry (he will carry, I'll follow), and getting veggies from the CSA. Including 2 lbs of potatoes. Carb heaven....
I really like this skirt, but it works better with a belt in the belt holes, because of the fit. Luckily, I have the rest of the month to fix this.
Also, didja hear about In Professorial Fashion's Wonder Woman conference? You should totally participate, because it's gonna be the tops! The cat's pajamas! The bee knees!

Top: Copper Key
Belt: thrifted, via Beacon's Closet
Skirt: Muji
Boots: Born, via eBay
Bag: Brooklyn Industries

  1. This outfit FTW! I see why you picked that black top, it looks really good on you. And great accessorizing. You need to submit this to the boots-in-summer CFP, too.

  7. Well, in my nit-picky way I was going to remind you to submit this for FA's Boot conference (because I still have to take photos of myself in my boots-for-summer) but I see that everyone has already pointed out what an awesome boots-for-summer look this is. You look very, very cool in this--temperature and temperament. Does this mean that the heat wave of 2010 in NYC has finally subsided?

Good luck with the editing. Eep! 450 words? Go, Rad, go! Be ruthless!

  8. Excellent boots-in-summer. I must try that!

I'm excited about 6 x August! I wear a lot of basics, and I'd love some inspiring ideas on how to make that more interesting. Step one appears to be summer boots!

  9. LOVE this ensemble. LOVE it. Also, I cannot get enough of those boots.

And finally, thanks for the shout out. After the awesome FA Badass Boot Conference, the WW Pose Conference is going to have a tough act to follow! Lucky for us, everyone's poses are super-bada$$ thus far.

  10. Hi Rad,
Your my first stop so I will not run out of my alloted blogging time. I read yesterday's post and todays so I'm all caught up.

Today's outfit is edgy chic to the second power! We are only at day 3 and I'm getting a little bored with my choices. How are you doing?

  11. Thanks for the nice words everyone! I got married in these darn boots so I wear them as much as I can/
@PM: I fear the military vibe will be very common the next few weeks.
@Cynthia, LHdM, and D-Med: Done and done! And it was a downright high of 84 today. Or so. I may have slept through a bulk of the day...
@KB: I hope that I can be creative and remain interesting! These boots are my "folkloric" staple. I want to traipse about in meadows in them, even though I am two with nature.
@SU: I have a little anxiety about how to remix the same pieces over and over again, but I hope to keep it fresh with accessories.
