Only day 5

Only day 5, originally uploaded by Cohabitating_Closet.

It's only day 5 and it's hot again (93 degrees), and I am at a loss for what to wear. I have loads of cute combos in mind for when it's not so sweaty, but for today, I threw on a pair of dance shorts under this tunic dress, and tied a scarf about my hair, which looks like I've been working too hard to care. I call this the "Good Enough for day 5" outfit.
I've been so knee deep in my current project that I've descended into ditz-land. I can't find my cell phone charger and now I must run to the nearest store to buy one (every time I do this, I find out my phone has been made obsolete and that I can't find a replacement. Here's hoping that this hasn't happened yet.)
I'll be taking brief break the next few days from this project and blogging, as we have a full weekend of wedding rehearsal, wedding, then we are doing a memorial service for one of Blokey's relatives, and I thought that more socially normative clothes would be better for these events.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend!

  2. You so rock hair accessories! That scarf looks so cute :)

Sorry about the memorial, but I'm otherwise very excited to see you guys this weekend! I'll be getting my elbows ready for our Wonder Woman Wedding shots.

  3. Adorbs, my long, lean, leggy friend! And dang it - why can't I make headscarves work like that?

I'm sorry about the memorial, too, but glad you get a break from the project/s. Cannot wait to see the results of the WW pose-a-thon.

  4. When it's that hot, dressing simply is the ONLY way. And I second A-Dubs - so wish I could do headscarves like that!

  5. A friend of mine and I were talking about how wonderful scarves look, even though, since we both wear them, we both know that they are all about hiding that hair looks like you are too busy to care. And it is true, it looks wonderful.

  6. In my pretend world 6 or less challenge, consistent weather plays a huge part. 90+ is not part of my world. I'm sorry it is part of yours. Way to handle the heat and stay on track. I'm giving you a thumbs up right now.
The head scarf looks cool, like you just threw it on, but in that chic way only French women can do.
Enjoy your break with Anne. Sorry about the memorial. "See" you when you return

  7. Yeay for headscarfs! And nice compliments on the scarf. It didn't always stay on as well as I'd hoped today, but it got the job done. Thank goodness for creative ways of covering my laziness!
@StyleUnderdog, A-Dubs, and Anne: Thanks for your kind words. Blokey's funny, angry, and once very beautiful grandma died a year and a half ago, but it's taken awhile for the family to organize the service and interment. I only met her once and she was sick, but you could tell that she used to be a riot. His family planned this around our visit, and I hope that my presence can be of some comfort.

  8. Aw, sorry about his Grandma. That sounds like my grandmas on each side of my family, both of whom have been described as sassy. It's good that you got to meet her once though. It was definitely important to me that Bob meet my Grandma, just on the off chance that she's not immortal like I think she is.

  9. I'm loving your remixed looks so far. The scarf looks great on you worn that way. I wish I could pull off that style of head scarf.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you have a good weekend.

It's amazing what difference a belt can make. Totally different dress from yesterday.

  13. I'm seeing this late since I just got back and I guess I missed a lot on my reader while I was gone. I'm sorry about Blokey's grandmother - it's nice that they didn't put the plan to the side based on timing.

I hope you have/had a great time at the wedding.

I love all your 6-looks so far and am excited to see what you do next.
