Leftovers
Happy Monday, Stylenation! I'm working from home today, but here's an unblogged outfit I wore last week. Nothing too exciting to say about it - I was just keeping warm and cozy on a chilly fall day.
Cardigan: Old Navy (remixed)
Tank: Ann Taylor Factory Store (remixed)
Pants: New York & Company
Scarf: Embellish
Flats: born
How was your weekend? Mine was incredibly busy. Fella and I went out to celebrate friends' birthdays on Friday and Saturday night, and the rest of the weekend was spent being super domestic.
We finally painted our dining room. Here's what it looked like when we moved in. The room's makeover isn't quite finished yet, but here's what the new colors look like. The trim was a chocolate brown before, which was okay, but I wanted to go a little more bold. The top part of the walls are Dapper Tan by Glidden, and the bottom is Behr's Ruby Ring.
While not painting, I did a ton of cooking. Cooler fall weather always makes me want to be in the kitchen. I made chili and cornbread for dinner last night, and pumpkin pie cookies for dessert.

Ha, your new dining room looks exactly like what my dining room looked like before I painted it over with Chee-toh orange (actually a nifty orange called "Firelit" but I get a kick out of calling it Chee-toh orange). The people who lived in my house before me had a thing for dark wall colors, but it's north-facing brick bungalow under heavy trees so I am slowly re-brightening it.
ReplyDeleteI like your blue/gray/black combo. Very winter-y without being gloomy.
Ha! My parents have a room that's painted, as my dad calls it, "Nacho cheese." The dark brown was SUCH a pain to cover up, even with paint with primer in it. The red really brightens it up, and we got brighter curtains than the drab ones the last owners had. I'd love to see what your bright, colorful house looks like - house styling post? :)
ReplyDeleteI like the new dining room colors. Red walls always look nice.
ReplyDeleteI love chili and cornbread in the winter - looks delicious!
ReplyDeletewarm, cosy, and fashionable, Anne! I love the sparkly details on that top. And your kitchen (wall) looks sooo fabulous! I love the split color and your awesome wine storage! and the chili and cookies look deeeelish!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, I love everything about this post. The outfit looks fantastic on you, the paint job is impressive, and the pumpkin pie cookies are calling my name! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the bold red - excellent choice!! And the fall does make me want to spend more time in the kitchen... your dinner sounds super yummy!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this post -- though is it weird that my favorite part is the enviably stocked wine rack?
ReplyDeleteNah, that's my favorite part too :) Blame it on a trip to Napa, CA (where Fella was shipping 3-4 bottles home from EACH winery we visited) and some overzealous wine shopping in Michigan.
ReplyDeletePumpkin desserts are everywhere - those cookies look absolutely delish!
