I {heart} Fall
Have I ever mentioned how much I love fall? The only thing I love more is a fall with sunny, unseasonably warm weather, which allows me to go outside and enjoy the beauty of the season. And this weekend, I've done plenty of that.
This is a fairly simple outfit, totally copied from Rebecca's post on MinnChic the other day. The scarf was last seen on Meko. She totally wears it better, but thankfully, she was nice enough to let me borrow it.
Tee: Loft
Pants: Loft Outlet
Scarf: Limited
Shoes: Puma
Speaking of the dogs, one outdoor thing we did this weekend was give both the dogs a bath. There probably won't be many more weekends where it's warm enough to hose them down in the backyard, so Fella and I took advantage of the weather. They look happy here, but they were less than thrilled about baths.
I also went on 3 bike rides this weekend, logging close to 35 miles! Above, was a ride down to Montrose Habor on Friday.
Yesterday Fella and I took a 17 mile ride up to Evanston and back. Here he is above, in the International Friendship Garden in Evanston. It's just beautiful, though definitely a trek to get up there. We decided that, should we get another nice Saturday, we'll pack up some snacks and just ride as far north as we can. And probably take our bikes home on the train, since I don't know how much I can ride beyond 20 miles or so.
Here's some pretty flowers and plants in River Park on Chicago's north side. I don't think it's technically one of the city's prairie areas, but it reminds me a lot of what I've seen in prairie habitats around here.
And this morning I took a ride down to the lake, hoping to see some of the Chicago Marathon. The northern edge of the route is just west of where this picture was taken, but alas, I didn't see any marathon runners. I did, however, see a pretty, somewhat hazy city skyline.
How are you enjoying fall?

I heart fall too. It's a little chilly here but beautiful. I'm spending my day listing stuff on EBay and taking bags to Goodwill but I feel like I should be outside.
ReplyDeleteLove the happy dog faces! Hooray for you to bike so many miles, in such gorgeous weather. My husband bikes about 25 miles a week, but I am a lazy toadstool : >
ReplyDeleteGreat seeing the gold leaves against a blue sky. And nice red shoes!
ReplyDeleteYou are oh so active! I love all these Fall pictures! I was up in Chicago for a couple days over the weekend, and took some Fall photos, but they didn't turn out as gorgeous as yours!
ReplyDeleteI love that scarf! I saw that Rebecca has been making circle scarves and now am convinced I spent too much money buying those when they came into style! I feel cheated!
I love your version! The red shoes are awesome.
ReplyDeletelooks like you had a perfect weekend! i love fall as well, and i love your outfit for fall. the leopard scarf and the red shoes are perfect together.
ReplyDeleteI dunno, I think you're giving Meko a run for her money with the leopard scarf. Gorgeous pictures, too. You're developing a great eye.
ReplyDeleteThe weather was just so amazing this weekend. Very impressive bike rides, I am tired just thinking about them. Love the addition of the scarf and red flats to teh simple jeans and tshirt!
ReplyDeleteHaha, yes, I only enjoy fall when it's unseasonably warm and feels more like summer!
ReplyDeleteYour shots of the city and harbor came out so well!
Chilly weather makes me think I should sty in. And sometimes you just have to do indoor stuff.
ReplyDeleteGood for your hubs! I never thought I'd bike so much, but it does get easier :)
ReplyDeleteAw, you were in Chicago this weekend? I hope you got to do something fun!
ReplyDeleteI will definitely have to go up to Chicago again soon because now I know so many bloggers I want to meet in person. (like, YOU!) I went to visit my best friend I haven't seen in 5 years, and it was a short trip!
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have picked a more perfect weekend to visit. And yes, come back soon!
ReplyDeleteSo put another way, I like summer without the humidity :)
ReplyDeleteYou look so comfy and cool! I cannot keep up with the changing temps and keep looking like I am about to melt or freeze.
ReplyDeleteI did watch the marathon but they were not along the lake much -- I saw them over on LaSalle.
How I love a doggie post-bath-smilin' pose! Also, your ensemble is perfectly suited to the season. Leopard is sa-weet on you. Will we be seeing more of it?
ReplyDeletep.s. red shoes with black, denim and leopard is totally inspired. I am taking notes.
