Speaking of Floaty Skirts

05/25/11

The other day, E-Jo posted about floaty skirts.  And although I'm not a fan of mid-length skirts on me, I am a huge fan of floaty skirts!  Sure, pencil skirts are pretty flattering for curvy, hourglass-ish figured ladies like myself, but floaty skirts are just so comfortable, and they always signal summer to me.  Although my instinct is to pair a skirt like this with a t-shirt and flip flops, I dressed it up a bit for the office with flats and a cardigan.

On a random note of self-promotion, I decided to undertake my own Project 365 to celebrate turning 30 this year. The project involves taking and posting a picture each day for an entire year, and in addition to documenting your daily life for a year, it's also supposed to help build photography skills.  It's a little weird toting my camera around with me all the time, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.  In any event, this picture of Jude was one of my many leftovers yesterday.  He hasn't been on the blog much lately, so I thought I'd share.  And if you want to check out the rest of my pictures so far, you can visit my photoblog.  That's all.

  5. That is a really pretty skirt.  Since I sit at a desk most of the day, floaty skirts can be more comfortable.  Pencil skirts are hard to sit in, since I am not Joan from Mad Men.

  6. What a fantastic picture of Jude!  Such a happy guy!

I love a circle-y, floaty skirt and I particularly like this one.  It's such a great color and awesome with the white and grey.

  7. I'm not sure that I've ever actually seen Joan sit down (I'm re-watching Season 4 as we speak).

  10. Oooh, cute skirt! My pear shape does not do well with floaty skirts, but I love them on other people.

  11. Good luck with your 365!!! I'm sort of unofficially doing that with my outfit photos this year.  I take photos even when I don't blog about them.
I have to say, you think taking a photo everyday would be really easy... but sometimes, not so much. I'm sure you can do it though, and have fun!

  12. Yeah, I can definitely see that.  Fortunately I have Jude for the days that I'm otherwise uninspired :)

  13. Well, I know they're not the most flattering style for me, but they sure are comfy!

  14. Actually, the skirt did seem very E-Jo to me.  It sort of reminded me of that cute yellow ON skirt you have, style-wise at least.
