Leg Baring
I don't want to jinx this, but I think we might finally be getting a nice day here! It was almost 50 when I woke up this morning (compared to the upper 30's for the rest of the week), and the sun is shining. I just couldn't resist busting out a summer dress. And *gasp* bare legs! Is Chicago ready for these?
I don't generally talk prices here, but I do love a good deal. Since my birthday is in a couple of weeks, I've been getting a ton of coupons in the mail (similar to the Simpsons episode where Bart has 40-some birthday coupons to spend). I picked up this dress at Loft Outlet (did you even know there was a Loft Outlet store? I had no idea!) with 2 different coupons, so in the end it only cost $10!
It's been another busy week, so I'm really looking forward to a weekend free of travel and lots of plans. I'm hoping to make a bigger dent in the packing effort, and Sunday we'll be spending the day with Fella's family to celebrate Mother's Day and his mom's birthday. What are you up to this weekend?

I have to say, I love the colors in your outfit today. I think that they are all kinds of fabulous. (And as you will see, I did some talking prices myself late last night, and so I am glad to have company in that. I was worried that I was being terribly gguache.)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy mother's day. It is graduation weekend here and so I have many parties to attend with and for my friends!
$10 is fantastic!! love that dress, it's very adorable. Yes, bare those legs. it might be a bit cold at first, but it must be done. just commit to the weather being warm and hope it follows suit.
ReplyDeleteYou look smashing, Anne! Love this color combo on ya.
ReplyDeleteThat is a great dress! I'm envious of your bare leg weather. We're getting there, but it's still a bit chilly! I'm gearing up for a giant yard sale tomorrow. Should be fun!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know there was a Loft Outlet. Now I wonder if there is one in my neck of the woods.
ReplyDeleteThe prices aren't that much better than Loft, but they had a better range of sizes than the regular stores do, so I was pretty excited about that.
ReplyDeleteA yard sale does sound fun! Actually, even just a giant yard sounds fun :)
ReplyDeleteIt's kind of like getting into a cold pool - it's a lot easier to just dive in than gradually get wet.
ReplyDeleteOh, I could go on about prices and my cheapness when it comes to clothes shopping. Enjoy your graduation parties! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sal! My inclination a year ago would've been to pair this dress with white, so I've definitely come a long way with color mixing :)
ReplyDeletegreat find with pretty dress...I am also crossing my fingers that the warmer weather is here to stay...love to see the bare legs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great dress! I love the giant swirly paisley print. I've got a couple of great dresses from the Loft Outlet. I agree that the prices aren't amazing (I was there last weekend and they had a basic jersey dress for $60 -- which is way more than I tend to want to spend on a cotton dress) -- but if you can get them on sale, that's often pretty sweet. Have a good Mother's Day Weekend!
ReplyDeleteThat's a cute dress! I think there might be a LOFT outlet down somewhere near the South Carolina border but I'm a little askeert to go there.
ReplyDeleteCynthia, I would meet you there, potentially, if we were to go before July...
ReplyDeleteGreat colors, great find, and great legs! I'm glad the weather is finally warming up a bit around your parts.
ReplyDeleteOh, you brave girl! I am wearing sandals now, but only with pants, or dresses with leggings. Not warm enough for bare legs for me yet!
ReplyDeleteBut goodness, those colors are gorgeous on you! That dress is really pretty, and so flattering for you.
You know how I feel about leg-baring!!! I am so glad that it's warming up there! I love this whole outfit :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that would be fun! I have to figure out exactly where it is, but
ReplyDeleteI think it's the Tanger Outlets or something like that. Send me an
e-mail at my befab address and we can plan something.
Was it warm enough for you today? I'm LOVING this weather!
ReplyDeleteYeah it's not the biggest bargain, but they actually carry my size at the outlet store! Sadly I can't always say that at the regular store (though I don't understand that - why cater to special sizes at one store but not the other?)
