Trying Something New...ish
A few weeks back when I saw everyone sporting their maxi best over at Everybody, Everywhere, I really admired the looks that I was seeing, but hadn't considered it for myself. I don't know why I've always had a thing against maxi skirts and dresses. I had a ton of long skirts and dresses back in the mid-to-late 90's when I think they were in (well, at least I thought they were in!), so maybe I got burnt out on those. And I've always heard that showing a little leg looks better than not. I stuck to all of that until I saw this dress while cashing in some store credits and coupons. The print was so pretty, I had to try it on. I think shorter dresses may still look better on me, but I honestly don't care - maxi dresses are so comfortable!

You look magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI honestly think you look stunning in this. I tend to like maxi dresses on people (and I love mine!), but I think this makes you look regal and tall. Love it. (And I wouldn't've been able to pass up on that print either!)
ReplyDeleteI think you look awesome in that dress! I'm inspired to finally wear my maxi dress too :)
ReplyDeleteI think this looks great on you! I still haven't ventured over to maxi dresses yet.
ReplyDeleteYou look great! I love the print, which is just gorgeously summery.
ReplyDelete(I wish I was taller. Humph.)
Hmm, so if you're out in the blogosphere, I guess that means no early baby surprises? Good luck tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteYou should! Being tall, I'd bet maxi styles look great on you!
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure regal was what I was going for :) But despite being casual and flowy, the longer length does make it feel fancier than a shorter dress would.
ReplyDeleteI've always been resistant to the maxi as well -- but really the comfort level is just insane. its like even better than pjs.
ReplyDeleteDress looks great on you; love the print.
ReplyDeleteI recall going to the Dressing Room with you back in '10 or '09 and seeing how fabulous you looked in a blue sleeveless maxi, and it was pricey, but it was made for you. You look great in a maxi. In fact, since this length fits you perfectly with flat sandals, I might even say this was made for you!
ReplyDeleteHow tall are you? I too stay away from maxi dresses, but mostly because at 5'1" they all drag on the ground with me. But I think you can pull off that dress!
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, yes. I think you look absolutely amazing in this dress and I kind of want to go buy it so we can be bloggy-twins! I think this is the perfect maxi outfit.
ReplyDeleteI think the maxi looks great on you, but you always look good in purple.
ReplyDeleteUm, well they are buy one, get one 50% off and there's a $30 off coupon out there... just saying.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks! It's a good thing, since I seem to have a ton of purple clothes.
ReplyDeleteI'm 5"9, so I guess a good height for maxis. I can't believe how long I've been missing out on this!
ReplyDeleteOh that's right! Wow, I totally forgot about that dress. It was so pretty. And like $110 on sale, I think. But that was still a super fun shopping day with you gals :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if anything is better than pjs, unless maybe a maxi nightgown? But you did really well with the maxi challenge too, so maybe you need to wear more of them.
ReplyDeleteYou are, nothing is better than pjs. Especially my fleece pants this
ReplyDeletepast winter. People can go on for days about how comfy tights and
skirt are, but in the cold winter, fleece pj pants are where its at.
Agreed! This looks freaking great on you. You can rock purple, it looks so great with your skin tone. That's what I love about Maxis=comfortable!
ReplyDeleteAnne. This is my FAVORITE OUTFIT of yours ever. Maxis love you! The print on that dress is gorgeous, The neckline is oh so flattering, the strappy sandals are super pretty with the dress, and the cardi color/dress combo is brill. I love it.
ReplyDeletethat dress looks great on you...love the print!
ReplyDeleteAnne--these colors are gorgeous on you and it sounds like you got a bargain on it too.
ReplyDeleteOOOOOH! That looks so pretty on you!
