Technical Difficulties
I mentioned in my last post that one casualty of our vacation was my camera. Fella bought it for me for my birthday last year, and it was pretty great for being a handheld not so fancy point & shoot. I was pretty bummed when he returned from a hike at Yosemite and told me the camera had run up against a rock and was no longer working properly. He tried to fix it, but to no avail. So, just in time for another birthday, he bought me a brand new camera. It's an upgrade from the last one, and it's already taken some great pictures so far. In addition to the last half of our vacation photos, I snapped this one at the Arcade Fire concert on Sunday night.
Not too shabby for being up in the balcony (neither was the show - Arcade Fire are pretty awesome live!). The bad news though is that I'm still getting used to the new camera's settings and such for taking outfit photos. For example, pictures like this happened.
Poorly timed and blurry! So bear with me. And believe me when I say this outfit was even cuter than it photographed.
Skirt, Cardigan & Tights: Target
Tank: Ann Taylor Outlet
Necklace: New York & Company
Shoes: Sears (c 2005 I think?)

That outfit is very cute. I think we have the same cardigan. Again. Unfortunately, my blue-striped one unravelled in the dryer (grr) but I think we'll be able to survive as twinsies without it. Although I think we'll have to do twinsies in late May instead of next week, because I am totally overwhelmed right now.
ReplyDeleteAlso: jealous re: Arcade Fire.
Great outfit. And about the camera... I have had mine for years and I'm still trying to figure everything out. The more things on the camera, the less I understand.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit! Glad Arcade Fire rocked!
ReplyDeleteAw, bummer about the striped cardigan. Does the week of May 23rd work for you? Any later in May and I think most of my clothes will be boxed up for the move!
ReplyDeleteI sat down one day last summer and read the camera manual, which was definitely helpful. I just need to find the time to do that again.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your camera, but the new one take great pictures!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a great cardigan!
ReplyDeleteYeay for Fella to the rescue. And great cardigan.
ReplyDeleteI totally believe you. But it photographed pretty well, too. Also, my Jude-love continues.
ReplyDeleteI heard ARcade Fire was pretty good live! Jealous. And that last pic with your dog is toooo cute!
ReplyDeleteArcade Fire? You are continually giving me concert envy. I was really kicking myself when they were in NYC last summer and I missed them, as well as missing them back in 2005...
ReplyDeleteWere they amazing? (not sure if i want you to answer 'yes' or 'no')
I missed them last summer too - they played at Lollapalooza here and I had to go to a wedding (with Rad, at least!) that weekend. If you ever get a chance to see them, do it. The National opened for them, so it was all around an amazing show.
ReplyDeleteI totally wished i could have gone to lollapalooza.... my sister and i
ReplyDeletewere drooling over all the band who were playing who we would have
loved to see and we pretty much whined about not getting to go for a
month.
Tell me about it! Fella and I nagged our friend for planning her wedding over Lolla weekend. I didn't care so much about the headliners (same as this year, really), but there were a lot of good bands! Who else did you two want to see?
ReplyDeleteThey are! If you ever get a chance, go see them!
ReplyDeleteOr Fella getting me an early birthday present ;)
ReplyDeleteI have new camera envy...you'll get the hang of it soon.
ReplyDeleteTHAT is an awesome shot. :) I just hate it when that happens, but who doesn't love a new toy to play with?
ReplyDeleteIn other news, I'm sad that you are still in tights? Will it never warm up?
Phoenix was the big one (we did get to see them in NY in october
ReplyDeletethough!)
also stars, matt and kim, spoon, the xx, temper trap, yeasayer...
there were SO many good ones!
lol. oh, Anne, you're so funny. my camera broke too and i ordered a new one, but until it gets here I'm having to borrow my sisters and I am not great with the timer - I've take a lot of these sorts of shots.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't seem like it will warm up! I'm in tights again today. And until you mentioned it, I didn't think it too odd to still be wearing tights in late April. That's sort of normal here.
ReplyDeleteHehe, thanks for sharing the behind the scenes shot. I'm a sucker for the bloopers!
ReplyDeleteIt stinks because I had my old timer totally figured out. This one kind of jumps the gun, which I suppose is less annoying than me standing around smiling and wondering when it'll go off.
ReplyDeleteI have still yet to see Phoenix! I wanted to go a couple years ago, but I had school the night they were playing.
