Go Red for Women

It's hard to believe that it's already February, isn't it?  February is American Heart Month, and this Friday, February 4th is National Wear Red Day. Wear red this Friday to help increase awareness of heart disease in women, or go a step further and join Andie's campaign to wear red once a week during the month of February.

If you want help even more, the American Heart Association has a page full of ways to get involved, including Go Red Luncheonsdonations and even a Go Red shop.

  1. Anne--You look great in this dress and I really admire the style. I've been shopping a red dress for months and have yet to find one, but I will be celebrating on Friday and every other day this month.

  2. Oh my gosh, what a killer dress! You look magnificent!

I am in for Friday, and I can easily wear red lots this month - red is one of my favourite colours!

  3. Sweet baby! You're a knock-out! Also, thanks for alerting us to the wear red theme. I'm so in. (Probably you are surprised about this.)

  4. I remember reading from Maureen O'Dowd's book "Are Men Necessary" and she recalled how her mother once told her that if she was feeling low, she should put on a red dress and red lipstick. Our Anne, proving Mrs. O'Dowd right.
I wish I had more red!

  5. You look amazing in that dress, I think you should remix it every week this month :)

  6. That's a great dress on you, Anne. It looks very versatile.

Thanks for the red-note. I'm not keen on red on me, but I do have some very cool red jeans (thrifted) that I can wear on Friday. It'll be a good chance to take them out of the closet.

  7. You know what, I don't think I own a single piece of red clothing? I generally don't think it's the most flattering color on me but this still sort of surprises me. Particularly as I wear red lipstick regularly. Weird. Anyhow, great cause and dress! (This is from your 30x30, right?)

  8. Terri: I actually have 2 red dresses! The other is satin so it doesn't get worn except for special occasions (I last wore it to Rad's wedding).

Sheila: I'll be looking forward to your red! It's one of my favorite colors too, but oddly enough, I don't own a lot of red clothing.

A-Dubs: I'm very surprised that you'd wear red. Very surprised indeed.

Rad: Oh wow, that's a cool sentiment! It is hard to feel anything but happy decked out in red.

Lyddie: That would definitely be a challenge for me!

Charlotte: Red jeans? Ooh, those sound fun!

E-Jo: Yep, this is from my 30x30 in November. I don't own a lot of red either. Only certain shades of it seem to work with my coloring (example - I haven't been able to wear red lipstick since my days in ballet, where "ruby red lipstick" was required).
